Day 55 - The Tailor of Inverness

The Tailor of Inverness has taken its place as one of the great Scottish theatre productions.  It has played to over 40,000 people in 112 venues around the world (including ours!), generating an overwhelmingly powerful response from audiences everywhere.

Dogstar, the company behind the show, have launched this outstanding production via Vimeo On Demand. Want to see if it's for you? Here's the trailer:

The production is accompanied by Circling A Fox, Brian Ross’s beautiful documentary about the story behind The Tailor of Inverness, produced by Hopscotch Films.  Brian’s film follows Dogstar as we tour with the play in Poland and Ukraine.  It also features archive footage and audio of the Tailor himself.  Circling A Fox blends documentary, theatre and poetic drama-reconstruction to tell the story of Matthew Zajac’s quest to seek the truth about his father’s past and his efforts to reach out to a family he never knew existed.

"This is a beautifully-made film…both a road movie and a moving family drama, and although the story begins the best part of a century ago it is completely relevant to our own times.  In the end, it affirms the astonishing power of love.”

James Robertson

Here creator Matthew Zajac gives you an exclusive brief intro to the project!:
