Day 476 - The New Madrids: Mountain Of Trouble

One of the UK's best Americana bands, Perth's very own New Madrids have re-rescheduled their Joan Knight Studio show to Sat Dec 4th. It will be a night not to be missed; Mountain Of Trouble is a great example of their killer blend of country, soul, blues and rock.

Influenced by artists such as Gram Parsons, Jayhawks, Uncle Tupelo and The Band, Perth’s own New Madrids play a great mix of country, rock and soul, which is given a harder edge by Ian Hutchison’s raw vocals. American roots are at the heart of The New Madrids' sound with a powerhouse rhythm section of Maurice McPherson on drums and Callum Keith on bass backing the incomparable Owen Nicholson on any variety of stringed instruments with Ian Hutchison and Donny McElligott sharing lead vocals as well as songwriting duties.
