Day 425 - The St Johnstonaires: It's In Your Blood (Oh When The Saints)

The latest topical tune to flow from the prolific pen of local chronicler Ian McLaren is a harmonic bluesy reworking of When The Saints Go Marching In, lyrically updated to celebrate St Johnstone's remarkable season so far.

It's performed by a veritable supergroup comprising members of both Wang Dang Delta and Mad Ferret and is available now on bandcamp.

Based on the traditional tune When the Saints Go Marching In and adapted with new lyrics written to markSt Johnstone's incredible season during a locked down year. A lockdown collaboration between members oftwo bands from Perth, Scotland - Wang Dang Delta and Mad Ferret.

O when the Saints (o when the Saints) go marching in (go marching in)

O when the Saints go marching in

We wanna be in that number

O when the Saints go marching in

It’s in your blood (it’s in your blood) it’s in your soul (it’s in your soul)

It’s in your heart to be a Saint

We wanna be in that number

O when the Saints go marching in

O when the Saints (o when the Saints) go marching in (go marching in)

O when the Saints go marching in

We wanna be in that number

O when the Saints go marching in

O as the years (o as the years) go rolling by (go rolling by)

We all know why we keep the faith

We wanna be in that number

O when the Saints go marching in

O when the Saints (o when the Saints) go marching in (go marching in)

O when the Saints go marching in

We wanna be in that number

O when the Saints go marching in

We stand up proud ( we stand up proud) we stand up tall (we stand up tall)

And we all know the day will come

We wanna be in that number

O when the Saints go marching in

O when the Saints (o when the Saints) go marching in (go marching in)

O when the Saints go marching in

We wanna be in that number

O when the Saints go marching in

O when the Saints (o when the Saints) go marching in (go marching in)

O when the Saints go marching in

We wanna be in that number

O when the Saints go marching in
