A wonderful new song and video from the lavishly gifted Perth artist, Mairi Sutherland.
"Harry’s Bones was my first university project where I combined art with music. It was inspired by Scottish folk tales, and tells the story of an impressionable young boy who is lured in and eventually controlled by malicious fairies. This first venture into animation ignited my interest and lead me to further explore this medium as well as other ways to combine my two favourite ways of expressing myself."
Mairi Sutherland is a 22 year old contemporary singer-songwriter, guitarist and artist from Perth, Scotland, currently in her 4th year studying illustration at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee.
Her songwriting uses haunting tunings and harmony alongside metaphor-rich lyrics to tell stories. She enjoys using drawings and animations to accompany her music to further envelop you in the feelings and themes.
Mairi has taken part in the Perthshire Amber festival and Celtic Connections on Campus as well as playing support slots around Perth. Alongside her solo work she is also the newest member of the indie/pop rock band Parliamo, providing vocal harmony, acoustic guitar and keys.
‘An authentic, natural young singer-songwriter with a really lovely guitar style’
