Tim Edey is an award-winning Perthshire-based guitarist and melodeon player who has played with a veritable who's-who of traditional music. During lockdown, Tim recorded a fabulous, feel-good album of mostly jazz and pop standards, which he released this week. It features Michael McGoldrick, Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy amongst others as well as Perthshire players Ross Ainslie, Patsy Reid and Dave MacFarlane, who also produced the album.
And you can join Tim for his now-legendary Saturday night live shows here.
During lockdown 2020 Tim, who many will know as the incredible multi-instrumentalist and guitarist with artists such as The Chieftains, Natalie MacMaster, Lunasa, Mary Black, Session A9, Michael McGoldrick and many more, recorded his new album I Got Rhythm at home in Dunning, Perthshire. Recorded in one take, this 13-track instrumental album features well-known popular melodies from Norah Jones to Stevie Wonder to French musette, Django Reindhart to the Bee Gees to Danny Boy and fast tunes to classical and back again! All given the unmistakable "Edey" treatment! Recorded in Tim’s small living room in a flat in Perthshire, it was a unique recording to make dodging outside noise, neighbour noise, and 2 small kids in lockdown!
