Day 310 - Laurie Cameron Sings Burns

A year ago, the brilliant Perth artist Laurie Cameron released Something In Us Never Dies, a superb "synth-folk" exploration of some of Robert Burns' lesser-known works. Her re-imagining of excerpts from The Captain's Lady in To The Shade We'll Go is complemented by a simple but highly effective lyric video that perfectly matches the 21st century feel of the song.

Something In Us Never Dies is a collection of modern reinterpretations of poems, songs and letters written by Robert Burns in the 18th century, set to new and original music.

“Laurie’s take on the words of Robert Burns gives new life to an old master. Modern, atmospheric production and beautiful vocals make for a gorgeous lens through which to view his work. An album to sink deep in to.” Roddy Hart, BBC Radio Scotland
