Day 307 - Georgina Ballantine's Record-Breaking Salmon

As salmon fishing reopens on the Tay, angling podcaster Ceri Jones has an evocative look back on the incredible achievement of Georgina Ballantine, the 32 year-old daughter of a Perthshire ghillie.

Caught in 1922 on the Glendelvine beat near Caputh, her 64lb monster remains the largest rod-caught salmon ever landed in the British Isles nearly one hundred years later. Georgina wrote her own eloquent account of this remarkable feat, which we've also posted below.
