Luminate, Scotland’s creative ageing organisation, has worked with three different artists to create three festive activities for people in care homes to enjoy over the Christmas period this year.
Participants can create Christmas mosaics from card and paper, write (or speak) their own festive poem, or dance without having to leave their chair, guided through each activity by an artist in a short film. Watch the film here:.
Visual artist Tracy Gorman, writer Lorna Hill, and choreographer Chris Stuart-Wilson created the film as a Christmas gift for care homes with residents in mind, recognising that although there has been positive new recently, Christmas may be a difficult time. However, these are fun, creative activities that can be enjoyed by anyone, so if you’re inspired, have a go!
This latest film is a special edition in the Luminate@Home series, which shared activities every week throughout Lockdown earlier this year. There are now more than 30 different films to choose from, each designed to inspire and guide people through a creativity activity that can be done at home or in a care home.
