Day 241 - Stars in our orchestras 1

Anyone who has been watching the RSNO's digital concert series will have been literally blown away by the fabulous flute playing of Katherine Bryan. There are a number of players based in Scotland who pursue international solo careers bringing musical stardust to our fantastic Scottish Orchestras. Katherine was appointed principal flute of the RSNO at the absurdly young age of 21 following studies at Chetham's School and Juillard School in New York. As a student she was three times a BBC Young Musician finalist. She has performed concertos with a number of major orchestras including the New York and Helsinki Philharmonics and has made a number of recordings for Linn and Chandos. Very early on in her career with the RSNO she gave a lunchtime concert in Perth. It is certainly time for another!
