Day 230 - Fraser Anderson: Rag & Bones
Another great piece from our re-staged Made In Perthshire concert in Jan 2016. Singer-songwriter Fraser Anderson was resident in Perth for many years and took part in Perth Concert Hall's opening Pearls Of The Tay show in 2005 as well as this 10th anniversary celebration. A massively talented artist, this is one of his finest songs and features another sublime string arrangement from Patsy Reid.
With a voice up there with the folk greats of Nick Drake and John Martyn, Scottish troubadour Fraser Anderson is lauded by BBC 2’s Bob Harris and Zoe Ball and even praised by Chuck Berry. He’s appeared at some of Europe’s finest festivals including Celtic Connections, Reeperbahn and Zermatt, not to mention regular trips to the USA and Canada.
Over the years Fraser’s unwavering devotion has seen him raise three sons and release four acclaimed albums. His second album Coming Up For Air led to publishing with Metisse, Paris. His third album, Little Glass Box features the legendary double bassist Danny Thompson and attracted German label Membran.
Now, for the first time, Fraser has secured reputable management from Peter Conway and Robert Horsfall, Sound Advice (Business Manager/Legal) who are ready to shout from the rooftops about their new “undiscovered genius”.
With his three sons now grown, Fraser is able to tour extensively. He’s currently readying the release of his fifth album, after a fan gifted £15,000 for the recording at one of his gigs. The 2021 album marks a time of new opportunity with the prospect of broadening the impact, of a lifetime’s body of work, to the wider world.
