- James Waters Classical
Day 21 - Concerts I wish I'd been to No. 2
James Waters brings you the second in his series of fantasy concerts. The programme is:
Haydn: Symphony No 104 – Concertgebouw Orchestra conducted by Colin Davis
Schubert: Piano Sonata D 664 – Radu Lupu
Mahler: Symphony No 4 – Budapest Festival Orchestra conducted by Ivan Fischer
Sir Colin Davis was one of the greatest of British conductors, being both music director at The Royal Opera, and Music Director of the London Symphony Orchestra. Radu Lupu is an incomparable pianist and his Schubert performances are utterly unforgettable. Ivan Fischer’s Budapest Orchestra Mahler Cycle has been unanimously praised both for its interpretation and the astonishing quality of the playing.
