Day 20 - One Man Two Guvnors

Updated: May 21

For those who have missed it, for the duration of Covid 19 the National Theatre at Home will be broadcasting some of their hit productions week by week on Youtube.

Here is the fantastic One Man, Two Guvnors with James Corden.

It's not the same as sitting in the theatre - especially not with this show where so much of the experience is being part of the audience - but it's still a lot of fun.

To my mind, the unsung hero of the piece is Cal McCrystal the Associate Director of the piece - who directed all the physical comedy and slapstick. Cal was the director of my hands-down favourite-ever show, which I'd love to bring to Perth Theatre if we get a chance: Cooped (renamed Hysteria) by Spymonkey. Part Hitchcock, part Pink Panther, I have literally never laughed so much in my life.

In the meantime, enjoy One Man, Two Guvnors - until Thursday when it will be replaced by Jane Eyre, Sally Cookson's bold reimagining of Bronte's classic.

This event has now passed, but we'll be sharing more National Theatre At Home streams in future posts.
