Every Saturday night at 9pm, the incredible virtuoso guitarist and melodeon player Tim Edey plays a marathon solo session live on Facebook from his Perthshire home - and occasionally on location. You can listen for free (though tips are very welcome!) and here's a little taste of what he can do on both instruments thanks to the wonders of modern technology. Check him out tonight if you can.
Tim Edey (BBC Radio Two Folk Award's Musician Of The Year in 2012) is a multi- instrumentalist and singer who has toured the world and recorded with most of the major names in celtic and contemporary roots music including The Chieftains, Christy Moore, Sharon Shannon, Ross Ainslie, Natalie MacMaster, Altan, Capercaillie, Michael McGoldrick, Dougie Maclean, Liam O'Maonlai, The Barra MacNeills, JP Cormier, Session A9, Lunasa, Mary Black and Julie Fowlis to name but a few. Tim is now a name on the world stage in his own right after seventeen years of hard work and is rated by many to be one of the world's finest melodoen and guitar players on the contemporary folk scene.
"A ferocious passion and a beautiful tenderness, sensitivity, respect, understanding and love perpetually shines out through the music of virtuoso musician Tim Edey.”
